Plucky Rooster Contest Rules

This year there will be two contests in which to participate with three prize categories for each contest.

 

Build a Plucky Rooster

Sept 10, 2011,  10:00 am to 3:00 pm  

 

  • Best Rooster Model (Created by individuals or a group)
  • Best Children’s Rooster (Created by Children 12 or younger)
  • People’s Choice Rooster (Receives the most popular votes).

Live Rooster Contest

Sept 11, 2011  10:00 am to 3:00 pm

 

  • Best Crower 
  • Most Beautiful
  • Friendliest 

• Both contests are FREE and open to everyone. Groups or individuals are encouraged to participate.

• Entry Forms must be received by Sept 8, 2011.

• All ‘Build a Plucky Rooster’ entires must have a name. The models must be a minimum of 3 feet tall (excluding the height of the stand), must stand alone, and can be made of any material.

• All rooster models must be in place at Trinity Park by 9:30 am on Saturday, September 10, 2011, and must remain in place until 3: 00 pm.

• Individuals may enter up to three roosters in the Live Rooster Contest.

• All live rooster entries must be in place by 10:00 am, Sunday September 11, 2011and need to be removed from the park by 3:00 pm.

• All live rooster must be in cages and the owners will be responsible for them while on display.

• The public can choose their favorite rooster by purchasing votes for $1.00. The funds raised by this Popular Vote help to defray the cost of the event.

Helpful Rooster Tips 

All you need are some materials and your imagination to construct a Plucky Rooster. The objective should be to have fun creating a rooster out of things that you have around the house or that can be found in nature. Plucky Roosters made from recycled materials are eco-friendly and won’t cost you anything. use available materials such as: old  toys, tools, cloth, plastic, wood, metal, etc. Consider using PVC, chicken wire or wood to construct a sturdy stand.
