Planning Your Visit
The Battle of Plattsburgh Association is located at 31 Washington Road, Plattsburgh, New York 12903 - Phone (518) 566-1814 (see our map below). Hours of operation are Wednesday - Saturday 10:00am-3:00pm (year-round). Call to arrange a special visit; leave a message if we’re not available when you call, we’ll get back to you shortly.
Please proceed to the Museum office. You will meet your guides and be presented with a schedule and information related to your visit’s pre-arranged activities.
Plenty of free parking is available. A picnic area is available (we do not prepare or serve food); lunch and beverages must be brought with you. There are ADA accessible restrooms located in our Museum facility. Upon request, period games can and will be made available for recess in a grassy, shaded area. Instructors will be on hand.
We want your visit to be a pleasant experience. Students must be assigned in small, adult-chaperoned groups. All visitors need to be aware before their visit that art and artifacts need to be respected. Please do touch museum displays or objects unless encouraged to do so: human oils can cause artifacts to deteriorate and art to disintegrate.
MUSEUM STORE - THE HISTORY SHOPPE:
Our museum store has period-appropriate books, clothing, toys, prints, and "school tools" available for students, teachers, and chaperones. Many other craft and curious items are available for sale – there’s something for everyone. We encourage your group to visit the shop before departing.
